At The Shires retirement village we have created a sense of community and providing a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere is at the heart of everything we do.

Meet friends for a coffee, pop by for a cocktail or book onto one of our exercise classes – there’s always lots going on and everyone is very welcome.

Delicious Bistro Meals

Not only do we encourage our residents to take part in recreational activities and enjoy delicious meals in our bistro or drinks in the bar – we want the outside community to come in too!

Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 8.30am-4.00pm
Sunday 12noon—3.00pm (Booking required for Sunday lunch)

Did you see us on TV?

On 20th July 2023, The Shires featured on ITV at 20:30 on the programme ‘How to Age Well: Your Food’.

The programme highlighted the importance of a good diet as we age and our chef, Alfonso, talked about the quality of the ingredients we use and how he factors good nutritional choices into all the menus offered at The Shires.
